Description
The Cleveland Clinic Section of Imaging Sciences has an immediate opening for the position of software engineer. This person will oversee all software production and analysis pipelines for a neuro MRI research group.
The Imaging Sciences section at Cleveland Clinic does high level neuroscience methodology development and provides support for various MRI research activities across the Cleveland Clinic enterprise. Research activities include methodologic develop for MRI-based biomarkers for diagnosis and treatment of various neurodegenerative diseases (e.g. multiple sclerosis, Alzheimer’s Disease, Parkinson’s Disease), psychiatric diseases (e.g. major clinical depression, bipolar disorder), epilepsy and cancer.
The section supports three dedicated research MRI scanners (a Prisma_fit 3 tesla, a Cima.X 3 tesla, and a Terra.X 7 tesla) and supports high-level computing with dedicated infrastructure, featuring three HPC/Matlab clusters (472 total cores, over 2.4TB RAM), seven standalone GPU/CPU servers for heavy computation, and 700TB+ RAID-protected storage for large datasets. Additionally, 20 high-end Dell Precision workstations are available for data analysis, providing an on-premise environment suited for advanced medical imaging and signal processing.
Requirements
Applicants should have a master’s degree in computer engineering, biomedical engineering or a related field. Expert knowledge of Linux bash scripting, as well as familiarity with python, AFNI, FSL, SPM and Matlab is required. Background in fMRI or other neuroimaging modality is desirable. Anatomical and functional MRI analysis experience is strongly preferred.
